SFL Serves USS Montgomery on her Goodwill Visit in Davao, PH

Seaway Filipinas Logistics, Inc. (SFL) has been awarded the husbanding service provider contract for USS Montgomery (LCS-8), an Independence-class littoral combat ship of the United States Navy for her three-day goodwill visit in Davao, Philippines last June 2019.

During her visit, the vessel received military and civic leaders on a reception held at the flight deck. USS Montgomery’s commanding officer (Blue Crew) Commander Edward Rosso said that the visit aims to improve interoperability and to learn from experiences and cultures of both Philippine Navy and US Navy, which are allies for the longest time.

“We’re here to strengthen our partnership and our alliance with the Philippines. We can exchange cultural ideas and interoperability. It’s very important that our military work together, learn how to operate together,” he said.

This marks the first deployment of USS Montgomery and the first ever arrival of a US Naval ship at Davao.
